[Review] The Blue Sword (Damar, book 1) by Robin Mckinley (1982)

This is an epic adventure story that really celebrates and acknowledges the strength and tenacity of women.

Very thorough and detailed world building with some lovely descriptive details. Great character development, as well. The main character felt real and multidimensional. She wasn't just one aspect of a personality. She was deep, introspective, and fully fleshed out.

I will note that this story is a bit slow in the telling. However, I also recognize that this is one that will stick with me for years to come.
